description

HAA1200 is a fluorogenic substrate for Aminopeptidase M, which is a metalloprotease that hydrolyzes N-terminal amino acids. The substrate shows a weak fluorescence (absorption/emission ~ 330/390 nm). After enzymatic cleavage, the fluorescence of the end product (AMC) is drastically increased (absorption/emission ~ 340/440 nm). AMC combines a high fluorescence yield with a large Stokes shift and is relatively photostable.
