RL-3835 is carboxy-functionalized benzylguanine (BG), allowing for further drivatization with amino or hydroxy-functionalized labels or linkers. The BG moiety reacts specifically and rapidly with the so-called SNAP-tag, a polypeptide protein tag, allowing irreversible and covalent labeling of SNAP fusion proteins.
