Electrophilic photo cross-linker. The carboxylic acid function can conjugate to nucleophiles like amines with standard condensation reaction conditions. The diazirine ring will dismiss N2 under illumination of UV light and the remaining carbene will undergo insertion and addition reaction with any neighboring molecules and irreversibly form a covalent bond.
