Prof. Rob Liskamp obtained his Ph.D. Bio-organic Chemistry at the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands (1982). Post-doctoral research (1983-1986) was carried out in The Institute of Cancer Research and Department of Chemistry of Columbia University, New York. From 1986-1993 he was an assistant professor at the University of Leiden. In 1991 he was a visiting professor at the University of California in Los Angeles. In 1994 he became associate professor at Utrecht University and in 1996 professor of Molecular Medicinal Chemistry. In 2012, he was a visiting professor at the Universities of Leeds and Glasgow. He was Professor and Chair of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Glasgow from 2013 through 2019. He is now Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the School of Chemistry of the University of Glasgow, Guest Professor in the Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht within the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Maastricht and Consultant of Cristal Therapeutics. His research interests include (enzymatic) synthesis of biologically active modified peptides and peptidomimetics, dendrimers, peptide folding, protein mimics including synthetic antibodies and vaccines.
