We bid farewell to our founder and managing director Oskar Tropitzsch, wo passed away on August 16, 2021, at the age of 75.

Oskar Tropitzsch studied business administration at the Friedrich-Alexander-University in Erlangen/Nuremberg. He then took part in a trainee program in the iron and steel industry and was head of the economics department. After working as commercial director of Chemische Fabrik Marktredwitz AG, he founded Cfm Oskar Tropitzsch e.K. in 1985.

At the turn of the millennium, biotech experienced a real boom and especially in peptide synthesis, there was a spirit of optimism. Oskar Tropitzsch recognized the great market potential behind and in 2001, he founded Iris Biotech GmbH. Later, in 2013 he also founded Iris Biotech Laboratories GmbH and also took over the management here.

Entrepreneurship, good and trustful relationships with business partners, courage, a good team, and interesting products – the cornerstones on which Iris Biotech was founded and the principle, that still leads us today.

Oskar Tropitzsch led his company in a future-oriented manner. He trusted his employees and gave them the freedom and support they needed to drive themselves and thus the business forward. He set the direction but listened carefully and readjusted when in doubt.

We will miss his knowledge, advice, and confidence. His practiced values have shaped us all. We will be carrying them on in his interest.
